Born and raised in Turlock to local small business owners, Sandy spent over 6 years in NYC studying Marketing and International Management at Pace University and working at McGraw-Hill as a Marketing and Event Specialist. She then spent over 20 months in India working for a social enterprise incubator, where she scaled a platform to build a local social enterprise ecosystem in 15 different cities. In her free time, Sandy enjoys boxing, hiking, travelling and reading.

Brett received his Bachelor of Arts in 1985 from Iowa State University. He has been a resident of Turlock since 2003 after relocating from Southern California. He retired in 2022 from California State University, Stanislaus after working for 15 years in the Office of Service-Learning helping students and faculty make connections in our community to provide valuable volunteer service activities related to their disciplines. He joined the Board of Directors in 2022. In his spare time, he is an avid reader, hiker and traveler who enjoys learning about people from different cultures.

Lori was raised in Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota-Mankato. After four years in Chicago working for Butterball Turkeys, she moved to Turlock to work for Foster Farms in their newly acquired turkey division where she worked for 24 years before leaving to spend more time with her family. Lori began volunteering at United Samaritans Foundation and became their Accountant retiring in 2021. In her free time Lori enjoys reading and traveling with her husband in their RV. She joined the Board in January 2023.

Born in Turlock and raised in Hughson, Greg graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is registered as a California Professional Civil Engineer. He worked for Varco-Pruden Steel Building for 29 years. During this time, he worked in many different areas. After retiring he started doing volunteer service work for United Samaritans, We Care Program, Knights of Columbus and teaching religious education classes at the church. He joined the Board in September 2022.

Born and raised in Turlock. Corey's passion for helping others started as a child, serving meals on the food truck with the Daily Bread. Corey worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She joined the We Care staff as a case manager in our Navigation Center and has helped with Rapid Rehousing and HMIS. In her spare time, Corey enjoys traveling and being in nature.

Born and raised in Turlock, Maris Sturtevant has been working to empower the homeless community in Turlock for over 20 years. Maris was a member of the original founding groups who started the Daily Bread Lunch Program at Sacred Heart Church in 1992 and the We Care Program in 2003. Some of Maris’ notable accomplishments include the Humanitarian of the Year Award from City of Turlock and the Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary International.
